Cuban Cultural Brigade to Arrive in Haiti

Marta Machado Brigade headed by prestigious Cuban plastic artist Alexis Leyva (Kcho) is expected in this city.
The brigade will perform cultural activities in the settlements where the quake victims live.
Kcho will come with 48 artists (painters, musicians, humorists, magicians and clowns) who promised to remain in Haiti as long as it takes to promote joy among the quake victims, most of them settled in parks and public squares.
The brigade is formed by Tropazancos group, Yasek Manzano, a representation of the Cuban National Circus, singer-songwriter Kelvis Ochoa, plastic artists Ernesto Rancano, Juan Carlos Gonzales Perez and Javier Guerra, among others.
Kcho said before leaving Cuba that he will take a support message to the Haitian people and to those who are assisting them.
Marta Machado brigade will be added to Cuban medical mission to relieve psychological effects of the quake on Haitians.
Marta Machado brigade was created in 2008 to take a strength and cultural message to Cuban residents in the areas affected by Gustav, Ike and Paloma hurricanes.
