With the photographic exhibition Los agradecidos te acompañan (The Grateful Ones Accompany You), press workers in Ciego de Ávila - central Cuban province - pay homage to the historic leader of the Revolution of this country, Fidel Castro.

The exhibition is showed in the gallery Raúl Martínez of this city and is composed of 50 photos of local journalists and photographers who reflect the tribute of the town during the passage of the caravan with the ashes of the deceased leader to Santa Ifigenia cemetery in Santiago de Cuba.

The exhibition is contained within the program for the day of homage to the press workers, who celebrate their day on March 14, when it is also the 125th anniversary of the founding of the newspaper Patria by José Martí.

Jorge Luis Delgado, president of the Union of Cuban Journalists (UPEC) in Ciego de Ávila, said that there will also be meetings in communities with readers, listeners, and viewers, sports events, cultural activities and visits to historical places of interest.

He added that this year is dedicated to highlighting the thoughts of Fidel Castro and José Martí, which were examples of the practice of good journalism.
