The Association of Cuban residents in Egypt agreed today to face any defamation campaigns against their country and continue supporting the release of the three Cuban heroes unfairly held in U.S. prisons.
The agreement was adopted during the 5th meeting of the group, held at the Cuban Embassy here, during which Ambassador Laureano Rodríguez, outlined the course of action for updating the Cuban economic model.
He also referred to the major themes of Cuba's foreign policy, based on the principles of the Revolution, and opened a debate and exchange on the concerns of the members of the group.
The final declaration of the meeting, consisting of nine points, includes the demand for an end of the U.S blockade against Cuba, their support to the immigration reform and support to the embassy in the update of the consular situation of the Cuban residents in Egypt and urge them to join the association.
The association's leadership reported the activities in the year about to end, including the celebration of national holidays and anniversaries of the founding of the Federation of Cuban Women, the José Martí Pioneers Organization and the Young Communist League.
