The Coordinating Committee of Cuban Residents in France on Wednesday highlighted the island's results in the fight against Covid-19, in a message to celebrate the National Rebellion Day in the Caribbean country.
'Although we are a Third World country, besieged by the criminal US blockade, which has not given us a truce, we have managed to control the pandemic and bring fatality rates and cases to minimum levels,' the committee stressed.
The Coordinating Committee also highlighted that eight Cuban experts were elected to be a member of the Covid-19 advisory group, to advise that institutions and governments can get reliable information on the health crisis and its implications.
Amid the complex international situation, marked by the pandemic, Cuba continues saving lives without sparing efforts or resources, maintains its universal and free health system and always places the human being at the center of concerns, the committee stressed.
The Coordinating Committee that brings together several associations scattered across France recalled the July 26, 1953 events, when a group of young people of the so-called Generation of the Centennial -in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of National Hero Jose Marti- attacked the Moncada Barracks in Santiago de Cuba and the Carlos Manuel de Cespedes Barrack in Bayamo, Granma province, from the troops of dictator Fulgencio Batista.
On this new anniversary of the Moncada heroic deed, become National Rebellion Day, we pay a fair tribute to the heroes who paid our sovereignty with their blood, the committee said.
