The Hermanos Saiz Association (AHS) on Sunday awarded the Cuban Five, who were held for more than 13 years in U.S. prisons, with a commemorative stamp for the 25th anniversary of the cultural organization, which gathers young artists.
Luis Morlote, president of the AHS, presented the award to Aili, daughter of Ramon Labañino, who along with Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando Gonzalez and Rene Gonzalez are serving harsh prison sentences ranging from 15 years to double life after being arrested in Miami, in 1998.
According to Morlote, more action is required to secure the release of Ramon, Gerardo, Fernando and Antonio, and also Rene, who is under supervised release, so that they can return to their country.
Solidarity is what will bring them back and in that struggle, as in so many other good works, young people have to be at the forefront, Aili told the National Television News program.
