Nicaraguan President, Daniel Ortega, has said on today that Fidel Castro inspired and supported the Sandinista Revolution, upon his arrival to participate in the posthumous tribute to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution.
'We are in sacred land, in the land of Fidel, land of life and struggle for peace, the land of the commander of the Cuban Revolution and the Latin American revolution,' Ortega said.
We came here to accompany you in these new challenges, he noted.
Mexico's President, Enrique Peña Nieto, is also in Cuba. He was one of the first head of State to announce his participation in the mass rally to give the last respects to the Cuban leader, Fidel Castro.
Fidel Castro passed away on the evening of November 25. The Council of State declared nine days of national mourning in the country as of the following day.
Several presidents have arrived in Cuba since yesterday to attend the funeral ceremonies to honor this international man.
