Puerto Rican singer song-writer Danny Rivera will perform a single concert at the 13th Golden Boleros Festival in Havana, which will take place June 24 -27.
Musicians Alicia Valdez and Jose Loyola, members of the organizing committee, announced at a press conference that the singer of Madrigal and Amar o Morir (love or die) will perform an original show different from the previous he has performed in Cuba before.
The festival, dedicated to Mexico and Cuban singer Omara Portuondo, Latin Grammy winner in 2009 will feature a wide representation of that country, while the Bride of feeling, as is also known Portuondo, will have a prominent place in the festival.
Along with the art program, will remain regular conferences and seminars, taught by Cuban and foreign specialists, who will lecture about the history, present and future of that artistic genre. The national Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), the Ministry of Culture, the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) and the Cuban Institute of Music joined efforts to gather outstanding bolero singers from Cuba and elsewhere.
Among the confirmed artists are Chileans Prieto and Carmen Amaya Forch & Valentín Trujillo, Mexicans Rodolfo Muniz y Rodrigo de la Cadena and Spanish Sergio Nunez.
Mella Theatre, where the project took place for the first time 23 years ago, is one of the seven theaters where the will take place the festival, which will cover other provinces of the country.
