Almost a dozen papers are expected to be debated today during the final day of the 2nd Dominican-Cuban Meeting on Labor Law and Social Security based in the capital.
Law and solution to labor conflicts, Collective negotiation and union freedom, and Labor relations in the new Cuban model, are some of the issues of the gathering.
Located in the Colonial Zone, the Academy of Sciences is hosting this event, whose first edition was held in Havana in October.
Cuban judge Vivian Aguilar said yesterday that the labor law in her country has a mainstay in the true participation of workers.
The also president of the Labour Court at the People's Supreme Court praised the characteristics of the justice system from basic labor bodies to the maximum level.
During a conference, the lawyer emphasized in the principles of labor procedure such as free in judicial proceedings, immediacy, the appearance of the parties, speed, procedural concentration, simplicity, and respect for the law.
Our Constitution defines the principles and foundations of the content of laws, Aguilar said to colleagues and her country's ambassador here, Alexis Bandrich.
On the other hand, the president of the Third Court of the Dominican Supreme Court of Justice, Manuel Ramon Herrera, said that the respect to fundamental rights will guarantee the existence of a better country.
Luis Scheker, vice president of the Academy, Heriberto Rivas, president of the Dominican Association of Labour Lawyers, and Guillermo Ferriol, chief of the Cuban Society of Labour Law, also attended the meeting
