The second book by Fidel Castro, From the Sierra Maestra to Santiago de Cuba, The Strategic Counteroffensive, will be presented on Monday in Bolivia by Cuban Commander of the Revolution Guillermo García Frías.

The event will take place at the Presidential Palace and will be attended by Bolivian President Evo Morales and other authorities, members of social organizations, military and diplomatic figures, and representatives of various Cuban solidarity missions.

The book, previously presented by Garcia in the Venezuelan state of Falcon, relates the strategy deployed to fight the revolutionary war, with the opening of several battlefronts, and particularly recounts operations in which the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution participated.

The book is like a diary, a valuable historic source -- like Fidel's first book, The Strategic Victory -- because it includes 200 documents, 71 little-known photos, 16 maps and 10 sketches of scenes of battle against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista ( 1952-1959).

After arriving in La Paz on Sunday, García, the first farmer to join the Rebel Army after the landing of the Granma yacht, told Prensa Latina he was happy to have returned in just two months with the task, set by Fidel Castro, to present this second book on the subject.
