Venezuelan media on Saturday highlighted the article written by the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, entitled "Los Heroes de Nuestra Epoca" (The Heroes of Our Time) and published in Granma newspaper.
The daily Correo del Orinoco and state television reported on Fidel Castro's article, which deals about the departure of the first Cuban Medical Brigade for Africa to fight Ebola and the assassination of the young Venezuelan revolutionary lawmaker Robert Serra in Caracas.
Local media refer to Fidel's message, according to which, the two events show the heroic spirit and the capacity of the revolutionary processes taking place in the Homeland of Jose Marti and the Venezuela of Simon Bolivar and Hugo Chavez.
The article expresses the conviction that the assassination of the young lawmaker is absolutely in line with what is planned and announced by the enemies of the Venezuelan Revolution.
Fidel Castro also lauds the correct stance of Venezuelan authorities to state the need to investigate the nature of the crime thoroughly, the media add.
On Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro spoke to the people of Caracas at the funeral services of the socialist parliamentarian and his companion, Maria Herrera, who were murdered on Wednesday in the Caracas parish of La Pastora.
"The justice that transcends in the end is the people united and gaining victories, it is the consolidation of the Revolution, of independence," Maduro said.
The government decreed three days of national mourning for the death of the youngest lawmaker in the country's history.
The minister of the Interior, Justice and Peace, Miguel Rodriguez Torres, noted that the homicide was intentional and premeditated.
