The 40 cycle of the peace talks between the government of Colombia and the FARC-EP closed here with positive results and progress towards a final agreement.
The process moves towards the Final Agreement, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia-People's Army (FARC-EP) said in a statement.

Without ignoring the complexity of the subject under discussion, we can deliver a positive result to the country. We recorded progress, the two sides stated.

The guerrillas said that it is time that the parties should sharpen common sense to pay the way to understanding and consensus, because peace is now, and requires strong support, without reluctance, of national majorities.

The insurgent group noted that there was an intense simultaneous work in the legal subcommittees, of clarification and end of paramilitarism, gender, and ceasefire and bilateral and final hostilities.

The FARC-EP reported that despite the delicate security situation generated by the interference of the paramilitaries in the region, the work of cleaning and decontamination of explosives has been restarted in Vereda El Orejon, in department of Antioquia.
