Giuseppe Tornatore to Visit Cuba
Giuseppe Tornatore, one of the most representative European filmmakers in the last three decades will visit Cuba from January 7 to 11 after receiving an invitation of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).

Giuseppe Tornatore, one of the most representative European filmmakers in the last three decades will visit Cuba from January 7 to 11 after receiving an invitation of the Cuban Institute of Cinematographic Art and Industry (ICAIC).
Tornatore, who had to postpone his visit, will bring some of his representative films which are going to be played at Riviera movie.
The film season will begin with "Baaria" (2008), his most recent work and perhaps his autobiographic movie with Monica Bellucci in the leading role.
According to Cuba's News Agency (AIN) he will show his most important personal works, awarded with a Golden Globe in Cannes Festival and also with an Oscar to the best foreign film category to Cinema Paradiso in 1987.
The Italian filmmaker, born in Palermo in 1956 began his as a photographer, and then he moved on to theater before getting involved with film industry.
Among his most important films "Everybody's Fine" (1990) and "A Pure Formality" (Una Pura Formalita') (1994) played by Marcello Mastroianni and Gerard Depardieu respectively.
Tornatore movies show human inner world with a demonstrated knowledge of drama which captivate the audience and make them reflect.
