Homage to Hugo Chavez in Cuban World-Heritage City
A tribute to Hugo Chavez, including a concert, in the first anniversary of his death on March 5, will take place in this world-cultural-heritage city, Cuban singer songwriter Antonio Batista reported today.

A tribute to Hugo Chavez, including a concert, in the first anniversary of his death on March 5, will take place in this world-cultural-heritage city, Cuban singer songwriter Antonio Batista reported today.
The also member of the Cuban Union of Writers and Artists (UNEAC) said the artistic tribute to the dear friend of Cuba and Fidel Castro will be held at the Theater of the Art School Vicentina de la Torre, in this city, around 570 kilometers east from Havana.
He highlighted the significance of the tribute to "the honest and sensible commander, the people's equable president that left a legacy to mankind," and that the event was included in the program of the 23rd International Book Fair Cuba 2014, in Camagüey.
He said that "the dear friend of Cubans" fought for gender equality, to dignify the indigenous people, against poverty, for Latin American and Caribbean peace and sisterhood.
Writer Jorge Santos Caballero announced that the intellectuals from Camagüey would pay homage on March 5 to the commander of the Bolivarian Revolution with a conversation entitled "Politics and Culture in Hugo Chavez," at the UNEAC head office.
The homage to Chavez will also be held at the Country Club, the largest urban park in the island, with the presentation of the book "Cuentos del Arañero," which gathers stories by the late Venezuelan president, compiled by Cuban journalists Orlando Oramas and Jorge Legañoa.
