The president of the Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), Fernando Gonzalez, on Wednesday denounced the United States' media war against Cuba with the purpose of subverting the internal order.
During a virtual meeting organized by that institution, the official condemned the use of issues such as gender equity, the alleged freedom of the press and pseudo-culture, in an effort to to disrupt constitutional and political regulations of the nation.
Similarly, he recalled how Donald Trump's administration (2017-2021) imposed more than 240 measures against Cuba to cut off the main sources of financing, as well as increased subversive actions aimed at imposing U.S. hegemonic policy.
In this regard, he mentioned the dollars allocated to organizations, institutions and media, as ways to stimulate the internal counterrevolution as part of the script of a soft coup.
Gonzalez pointed out that in this context, aggravated by the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, Cuba bets on solidarity and international commitment, and thanked the organizations in other latitudes for maintaining cooperation with Cuba.
He urged friends around the world to join the battle against the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed on Cuba by Washington for almost six decades, and to denounce the consequences of that unilateral measure on the Cuban people.
To this end, he urged to develop joint actions, whether in caravans, sit-ins or marches, and to participate on the 17th of each month in these virtual actions organized by the ICAP.
Today's call, under the motto Media War against Cuba: a Virtual Meeting against the Blockade, was followed by solidarity people around the world through the platforms of the ICAP's website Always With Cuba.
