Increased World Support to Cuban 5
Solidarity with the Five Heroes and their relatives has been strengthened in the last few days, and the Cubaminrex website is reporting activities held in Argentina, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe, Kiribati and Sri Lanka.

Solidarity with the Five Heroes and their relatives has been strengthened in the last few days, and the Cubaminrex website is reporting activities held in Argentina, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe, Kiribati and Sri Lanka. The Argentinian Committee for the Release of the Cuban Five sent a letter to US ambassador to that nation Vilma Martinez, requesting humanitarian visas to Olga Salanueva and Adriana Perez to visit their spouses in the United States.
They are the wives of Rene Gonzalez and Gerardo Hernandez, respectively, who as well as Ramon Labañino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez, are serving unfair sentences in that northern country 11 years ago.
The Five, as they are universally known, were absurdly accused of terrorism and condemned to harsh sentences. Their real crime was monitoring terrorist groups operating from Miami.
These groups have carried out sabotages, blasts, and bacteriological attacks for decades, killing thousands of Cubans.
Cuba's General Consul in Costa Rica Antonio Pardo presented the Five case during a meeting held at the Health Workers Union theater in that Central American country.
New commitments to publish the situation of those Cuban patriots nationwide were created in that activity.
Meanwhile, the island's collaborators and members of solidarity groups met in Zimbabwe, and read a declaration in favor of the Five's release.
Similar demonstrations have taken place in Kiribati, in the Pacific Ocean, and Sri Lanka, in the Indian Ocean, the latter organized by women belonging to leftwing parties.
Gerardo, Ramon, Antonio, Fernando and Rene sent a message, published in Cubadebate website, on occasion of International Women's Day, stating that they are their inspiration and strength.
