Laos and Cuba reaffirmed its constant cooperation and mutual support in the efforts for their respective development, highlights today Vientiane Times newspaper, referring to the recent visit here of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez.

Arriving from Vietnam, the head of foreign relations was received in a shortweekend stay by Lao President Choummaly Sayasone, who said he was proud of the growing ties with Cuba and thanked for the support given to his country, reiterating that it is firmly reciprocal.

Rodriguez complied with an invitation from its counterpart host, also Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Thongloun Sisoulith to hold an exchange of points of views, review the progress of the traditional ties and projecting future ways of cooperation, reported the publication.

A statement from the Laos Foreign Ministry described the Cuban Minister's visit as an important event that contributes to the strengthening of friendship between the two nations.

Rodriguez expressed his satisfaction for visiting this country to firsthand know about its development and reaffirmed that Cuba will continue to provide assistance in human resource development, education and health resources, as Vientiane Times.

According to this source Rodriguez conveyed an invitation of President Raul Castro to Choummaly Sayasone to visit Cuba at an appropriate time for both parties.
