The 17th Forum of Latin American and Caribbean Ministers of Culture began in the Ecuadorian capital on Monday, with representatives of 32 nations.
The meeting will be opened by the Ecuadorian Minister of Culture, Ramiro Noriega, and the speech of the director of UNESCO's Culture Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The proposals made at the 1st Meeting of Young People for the Latin American and Caribbean Integration: "Participation, Culture, Development," held on Sunday, will be evaluated at the forum Monday morning session.
Brazilian Minister of Culture will give a paper on "Cultural Policies for Integration, Development, and Democracy in Latin America and the Caribbean, followed by a debate attended by the representative delegations.
The debate on this topic will prolong until late Monday afternoon, when it is expected the approval of a final document.
The forum's first work session day will be closed with an official dinner offered by Ecuador's Minister of Culture at the Museum of the City, historical center of Quito, while the signing of a final document will open Tuesday work sessions.
