Mexico and Cuba have signed economic, cooperation and juridical agreements during the two-day visit to the Mexican capital by Cuba's Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez.
A communique issued by the Mexican Foreign Office said the agreements follow on talks held in Santiago de Chile last January between Presidents Enrique Peña Nieto, of México, and Cuban President Raul Castro, who agreed to strengthen relations between the two countries.
The presence in Mexico of the Cuban Foreign Minister reflects the strong process of strengthening of mutual relations and answers an invitation from his Mexican counterpart, Jose Antonio Meade, during his visit to Cuba on September 12th.
Both foreign ministers have reviewed again in Mexico issues included in their bilateral, regional and multilateral agendas, according to the Prensa Latina news agency.
Minister Bruno Rodriguez gave a conference at the Mexican Foreign Ministry on Cuba's vision of its links with Latin America and the Caribbean.
Mexico is Cuba’s third most important trade partner in Latin America and the Caribbean and the volume of trade has doubled in the five year period ending in 2012, while Mexican investment in Cuba has risen to 730 million dollars.
