More Actions Supporting the Cuban Five in the United States

Alicia Jrapko, representative in the United States of the International Committee for the Release of The Five, announced that the group will soon receive relatives of these Cuban anti-terrorism fighters unjustly incarcerated in that nation for more than 10 years.
On December 5, in the US state of California, friends of Cuba will welcome Magali Llort, the mother of Fernando González, imprisoned on September 12, 1998, together with his fellow countrymen Gerardo Hernández, René González, Ramón Labañino and Antonio Guerrero.
Llort will participate in a rally that will be held as part of the 5th Cuba-Venezuela and North America Trade Union Conference, a forum that has been scheduled for December 6 and 7 in the city of Tijuana, Jrapko told ACN from the US via e-mail.
Participants in the rally will denounce the injustice committed by Washington against these five innocent men, who were protecting Cuba from violent actions planned in South Florida, continued the US activist.
Programmed as part of the Conference is the screening of the documentary "Contra el Silencio" (Against Silence), a testimony of the vicissitudes suffered by the relatives of The Five -as they're internationally known by the campaign in favor of their release from prison-, prevented from visiting their loved ones regularly, added Jrapko.
Olga Salanueva and Adriana Pérez, the wives of René and Gerardo, respectively, continue being unable to visit their husbands, due to the repeated rejection of entry visas on the part of the US State Department.
