The friendly ties between Mozambique and Cuba date from many years ago and there are many joint actions in the field of mutual cooperation, affirmed today here representatives of organizations in solidarity with the Caribbean country.

The secretary general of the Mozambican Association of Friendship and Solidarity with the Peoples (Amasp), Jorge Mabay Tembe, made this statement in a farewell ceremony to mark the end of the mission of Cuban ambassador in this country, Rafael Aristides Jimeno Lopez.

On the occasion Tembe said that the Mozambican people will be always strongly marked by the unconditional surrender of the friendly people of Cuba in the formation of the new man of this African territory.

In addition, the Cuban diplomat appreciated Amasp the permanent solidarity with Cuba, particularly in the fight against criminal and persistent blockade imposed by the U.S. against that Latin American nation for over 50 years.
