Delegations from 18 Petrocaribe nations conclude Wednesday in this capital arrangements for a summit to analyze energy options of their members and food production.
For authorities of the small federation of Saint Kitts and Nevis, it was a great challenge to organize the Sixth Petrocaribe Summit, to be run for the first time in an East Caribbean nation.
Oaklyn Peets, permanent secretary of the Public Works Ministry in Saint Kitts and Nevis, stated that this will be one of the most significant and historic summits carried out by the Organization of East Caribbean States in the region.
Petrocaribe energy ministers expect to meet Thursday, prior to that of heads of State and Government. They will analyze energy infrastructure projects in several states.
The agenda also includes other aspects relative to the distribution of hydrocarbons in beneficial conditions through joint companies, and the system of exchange used for the payment of supplies.
