Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel, today endorsed the validity of the First Declaration of Havana, approved 60 years ago here.
It is a proclamation of principles presented by the leader of the Cuban Revolution Fidel Castro and approved by the General Assembly of the People, a huge gathering at the Revolution Square in this capital on September 2, 1960.
The First Declaration of Havana maintains full validity in its principles in the current scenario of resurgence of the blockade, financial persecution and economic aggression of the US Government against Cuba, the president signed on his Twitter account.
In the same social network, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez wrote that 60 years after the First Declaration of Havana, 'the importance of the principles of sovereignty and self-determination of our peoples is being reinforced.'
'They are essential in the face of the hegemonic threat of the Monroe Doctrine to the countries of the hemisphere', he added.
