The celebrations for the 55th anniversary of the relations between Vietnam and Cuba had another highlight with the prize award ceremony of a contest about Cuba and the solidarity links between the two nations.
The firs prize was given to the Sao Vang Group, of the Security Academy; the second was shared by young girl Hoang Thi Thu Trang, of Ho Chi Minh City, and the Nhiet Huyet Group.
The third prize went to Nguyen Huu Thuy, 26, from the Dong Nai province, and Le Ngoc Quynh, 84, from Hanoi.
The jury also gave other recognitions in this contest "Vietnam-Cuba: Solidarity for Development," convened by the Vietnamese Union of Organizations of Friendship and Radio the Voice of Vietnam.
In his speech, Pham Tien Tu, Vice President of the Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association and former ambassador to Cuba, highlighted the success of this initiative that was part of activities to mark the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
He extolled the high turnout nationwide and the young people's enthusiastic response to this contest, the results of which contribute to further consolidate and develop the bilateral relations and increase the knowledge about Cuba, its people and achievements in the past 50 years, as well as the brotherly relations and deep love for the leaders of the Cuban Revolution, specially Fidel Castro.
Meanwhile, Cuban Ambassador Herminio Lopez highlighted the strength of the relations between Vietnam and Cuba and the need for the new generations to continue developing them.
