Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel announced that Army General Raúl Castro will participate in the International Workers' Day parade in Havana on May 1, President Miguel Díaz-Canel announced.
In his closing remarks to the Fourth Plenary Session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba on Wednesday, the first secretary of that organization said that the Army General was abreast of the forum's debates.
"The meeting is going very well," said Raúl Castro in his message to the members of the Central Committee, who participated in the gathering.
According to the Presidential website, the 4th Plenary Session analyzed Cuba's economic and social strategy, the political and ideological work, and the results of the popular consultation on the draft Family Code.
Díaz-Canel called for massive participation on May 1st at the Revolution Square parade to celebrate the island's achievements, such as the development of its vaccines against the Covid-19 disease.
The traditional march, interrupted in the last two years by the pandemic, will return to major cities in provinces across the country.
According to the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples, more than 800 foreign delegates will participate in the International Workers' Day parade in Havana.
