Cuban President Raul Castro bid farewell Wednesday morning to Chinese President Hu Jintao, whose visit to Cuba helped strengthen ties between the two countries.
“Friends, it was a good trip, with good results, as always with a Chinese president, with optimum results,” Raul Castro told the press, minutes after Hu Jintao boarded his plane.
Also seeing off Hu Jintao were First Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Communist Party Central Committee Secretariat member Fernando Remirez de Estenoz, Vice President of the Council of Ministers Ricardo Cabrisas Ruiz, Foreign Minister Felipe Perez Roque and Cuban Ambassador to China Carlos Miguel Pereira.
During this, his third visit to Cuba, the Chinese president carried out an intense agenda that included a meeting with Fidel Castro and official talks with President Raul Castro.
After two days in Cuba, Hu Jintao traveled to Lima for an official visit before attending an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Summit.
