Solidarity with Cuba groups will meet on September 12 in front of the US embassy in La Paz, Bolivia, to demand the release of the five Cubans in US prisons for 10 years now.
Various activities in support of the release of these five antiterrorists unjustly incarcerated in the United States will begin next week in Bolivia, according to an announcement made by the organizing committee, reports Prensa Latina news agency.
The president of the National Coordinating Committee of Solidarity with Cuba movements in Bolivia, Patricia Jimenez, said that, also on September 12, these solidarity groups will carry out a march that will end with a meeting in front of the US embassy in the Bolivian capital.
Jiménez also announced an intense promotion work on the irregularities committed by the US legal system in the cases of Gerardo Hernandez, Antonio Guerrero, Rene Gonzalez, Ramon Labañino and Fernando Gonzalez, internationally known as the Cuban Five, by way of a world campaign for their release from prison.
The activist pointed that these actions will be of vital importance to unmask human rights violations, like the denial of entry visas to relatives of the Cuban Five to visit them.
Activities to pay tribute to the Five, she added, will be held in Bolivia’s Permanent Assembly for Human Rights, and there will also be a meeting with Bolivian students graduated in Havana .
These Cuban patriots are serving harsh terms for monitoring the activities of Miami-based anti-Cuban terrorist groups. The Cuban Five warned the population on the island about the violent plans of these groups; criminal acts which have caused the deaths and left wounded or disabled more that 3,400 people since 1959.
