Rigoberta Menchu: Cuban People Is an Example of Dignity
Nobel Peace Laureate Rigoberta Menchu sent a message to the Sixth Regional Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba underway in Mexico stating her love and admiration for the Cuban people and describing it as an example of dignity, fight and humanism.

Nobel Peace Laureate Rigoberta Menchu sent a message to the Sixth Regional Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba underway in Mexico stating her love and admiration for the Cuban people and describing it as an example of dignity, fight and humanism.
The Guatemalan indigenous leader sent her greetings to participants in the event that will take place until Sunday, and regretted not being able to join them because of her working commitments, PL reported.
Menchu noted in her message how the Cuban people has been able to overcome US aggressions that go from terrorist actions to an economic blockade.
Rigoberta Menchi, 1992 Nobel Peace Laureate, is also UN Goodwill Ambassador and a recipient of the Principe de Asturias Prize for International Cooperation, granted in 1998.
She is the leader of the indigenous political movement Winaq, which proposed her as candidate for Guatemala’s September presidential elections, for the second time.
