During its 13th Congress in Moscow, the Russian Federation's Communist Party (RFCP) approved a resolution on the 50th anniversary of the triumph of the Cuban Revolution and against Washington's blockade of the island.
The Russian communists, reads the text, demand the end of the economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba and the immediate release of the five Cuban anti-terrorists unjustly incarcerated in US jails.
Cuba has shown that, despite unimaginable and difficult conditions, a state that guarantees fundamental social rights can be created, the Granma newspaper reports on Monday.
The text underlines that, thanks to Cuba, many poor people from around the world learn how to read and write, and receive medical attention, and adds that, for many years, Cuba has treated, free of charge, the children suffering the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear accident.
Equally, it stresses the role of the Cuban paradigm, which has left an imprint on 21 st Century Latin America with the emergence of popular forces to power in many countries.
After congratulating the heroic Cuban people, who will soon mark the 50th anniversary of the Revolution, the RFPC reaffirmed its unconditional support for the archipelago in its struggle to reassert its independence and have a decent future.
