Russian Politician Said Relations with Cuba Will Stay Positive

The Head of International Relations of the Russia Just political group, Boris Guseletov, said in Havana that relations between his country and Cuba are not going to change.
Guseletov told Granma newspaper that Russia should maintain and expand relations with the island and noted that his party’s section in Saint Petersburg has developed several initiatives in relation to Cuba.
The Russian politician explained that after the passing of three hurricanes through Cuba last year, his organization offered to support the island and sent material aid. He said the idea of helping Cuba recover from the devastation caused by the storm emerged from grass-root groups and later it was expanded to other regions in the country.
Guseletov noted that Cuba is an example of free relations and “the leadership of our party is in favor of changing the world architecture with views to achieve justice-based bonds among States, so that the unipolar world can turn into a multipolar one and we stop being hostages of a single hegemonic power,” said the political leader.
He recalled that Russia and Cuba have always had friendly bonds and this should be expanded to all sectors.
“Likewise, we think that even though the younger generations of Russians do not know Cuba as much as the older people do, who remember it and admire it, we have to transmit this feeling to the young people,” Guseletov pointed out.
