The José Martí Cuba Friendship Association based in Ankara, Turkey , will hold a week of Solidarity with the Cuban Revolution, from October 22-26.
Cuban troubadour Gerardo Alfonso will be part of the delegation from the Caribbean island invited by the event’s organizers, and will participate in conferences meetings, and activities on diverse artistic themes in that European nation.
Actions will be aimed at promoting the solidarity of the Turkish people with Cuba and its political process.
During the week, participants will demand the release of the Five Cuban anti-terrorism fighters incarcerated in US jails.
Gerardo Hernández, Ramón Labañino, Antonio Guerrero, Fernando González and René González are serving unjust sentences, ranging from 15 years to several life imprisonments, for infiltrating Florida-based counter-revolutionary groups, with the objective of neutralizing their plans against the island.
Likewise, they will declare themselves to be in favor of the cessation of the illegal economic blockade imposed by Washington on the Cuban people for almost 50 years.
