South African university graduates from different generations who studied in Cuba, met in this capital in an emotional reunion that celebrated the 87th birthday of the leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro.
During the informal but intense activity in its political, solidarity and friendly content, doctors, engineers, lawyers, and psychologists recalled the importance of the studies taken in the Caribbean island.
With accent on the first generation of graduates, almost 30 professionals were convened by the Cuban embassy in South Africa, to celebrate Fidel Castro's birthday, on August 13, and exchange on current and future issues.
We will never have words enough to thank for the lessons learned with the Cubans, not only in the professional aspect, but also regarding human values, solidarity and principles, mining engineer Moeketsi Sekhokoane told Prensa Latina.
Hugs, tears, laughters and anecdotes characterize the meeting, in which Cuban ambassador to South Africa, Carlos Fernandez de Cosio, said that the first generation of graduates from this nation had to move to other countries.
The diplomat stated that this was a commitment of principles for the Caribbean island, which left indelible marks in building a South Africa without apartheid.
