Assistant Director-General for Social and Human Sciences at UNESCO, Nada Al-Nashif, is visiting Cuba, to participate in the Second International Conference "With All and for the Good of All," taking place in this capital.
The official of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), will deliver tomorrow the Jose Marti International Prize, granted this year to Mexican Alfonso Herrera Franyuti.
During her visit, Al Nashif will hold meeting with the island's researchers in the field of Social Sciences, and carry out a view to the Anti-doping Laboratory of the Sports Medicine Institute.
Convened under the influence of the ideology of Cuban independence hero, Jose Marti (1853-1895), and in the context of his 163rd birthday, this international conference is determined to contribute to the shape of thought and the action to confront the many and complex problems of the 21st century.
The event fosters the debate of ideas, and puts Marti's thought to build understanding, which face up the most diverse challenges of political, economic, cultural, social and environmental nature characterizing today's world.
The meeting brings together more than 700 participants from 50 countries at the Conference Center in Havana, from Jan. 25 to 28.
