The Venezuela-Cuba Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement reaches today 14 years of creation, with a variety of social programs carried out throughout the country, among which public health and education highlight.
During that time, economic and social projects have been developed benefitting both nations, guided by the spirit of its founders: the leader of the Cuban revolution, Fidel Castro, and late Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
On October 30, 2000, the two leaders signed this agreement in Caracas, which allowed expanding bilateral relations.
In addition to the mutual benefits, the document calls for the integration of Latin America and the Caribbean.
Within the Venezuela-Cuba comprehensive agreement is the Barrio Adentro Mission, aimed at strengthening the public health system and has offered free consultations to more than 617 million people in this country, according to official figures.
