Venezuela's National Assembly will hold a meeting Tuesday to express opposition to a recent Washington gathering that launched fresh attacks against the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of our America (ALBA).
The Assembly meeting will bring together the different powers of the State to establish a stance toward the Washington meeting, where international right-wing extremist forces and U.S. Congress members held a forum called Danger in the Andes: Threats to Democracy, Human Rights, and Inter-American Security.
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said that forum was aimed at attacking and campaigning against the ALBA and especially against Venezuela, to overthrow the Bolivarian revolution.
The Washington forum brought together Latin American politicians and business people, including fugitives such as Venezuelan Guillermo Zuloaga.
The participants' list also included the former U.S. Undersecretary of State for Latin America, Roger Noriega, who worked for the George W. Bush administration.
