The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) national leadership is intensifying on Monday the organization's role, regarding the confrontation against paramilitarism from Colombia.
According to leader Freddy Bernal, a delegation of the main political power of that country, with more than seven million members, is visiting the western territory with that objective, after violence and people's insecurity increased there, due to actions by paramilitary groups during recent weeks.
Our purpose is to exchange with the local PSUV and support it, he disclosed in an interview with Venezolana de Television.
According to Caracas former mayor, the paramilitary presence in Tachira is part of a destabilizing plan against Hugo Chavez's government and the change process he is leading.
To Bernal, the objective is to create an international conflict that ends the intervention in Venezuela, which is a criteria shared by other figures when dealing with the isue of US access to new military bases in Colombia.
The leader denounced complicity of opposition sectors, which are allegedly linked to such subversive projects.
