Cuban athlete Yipsi Moreno took the silver medal in the women’s Hammer Throw finale on Wednesday after placing only behind Belarusian Aksana Miankova.
Moreno finished with 75.20 meters accomplished in her last attempt while Miankove dominated the competition with a new Olympic record of 76.34.
The bronze medal was for Chinese Zhang Wenxiu with 74.36 meters.
