Bouasone Bouphavany, Prime Minister of the People’s Democratic Republic of Laos, arrived in Cuba on Sunday afternoon for an official visit.
The Laotian leader and his delegation were met at the Jose Marti International Airport by Marcos Rodriguez Costa, Cuba’s Foreign Affairs deputy Minister, and other Cuban officials.
During his stay in Cuba through Wednesday May 6, Bouphavany, a Politburo member of the Laos People’s Revolutionary Party, will hold talks with members of the Cuban Council of State; meet with several ministers and tour places of scientific, education and other interests.
Accompanying the prime minister on his visit to Cuba is First Deputy Prime Minister as well as current Foreign Minister, Thoungloun Sisoulth, and other officials of the Asian nation.
Also on the welcoming committee was Laos’ ambassador to Cuba, Khampo Khyhamphitoune, and members of the diplomatic mission.
