Social security spendings in Cuba to treat common illnesses and accidents in workers grew during the first semester of 2011, according to a report from the National Statistics Office published by the local press on Thursday.

Social security spendings in Cuba to treat common illnesses and accidents in workers grew during the first semester of 2011, according to a report from the National Statistics Office published by the local press on Thursday.
Some 595 workers were subsidized for common illnesses and accidents, and 4,682 people were assisted for professional ailments and accidents in the workplaces.
Public spending increased by 3.2 billion pesos, same as USD at official exchange rate, in case of common accidents and illnesses.
Havana was the province with more subsidized people for common and work diseases and accidents, totalling some 131,600.
