Cuba Hosts Intercontinental Psychology Event

Human development and subjectivity, psychological theories and their relationship to other sciences are among the issues to be discussed at the 6th Intercontinental Convention on Psychology, Hominis 2013, starting today in this capital.
The event, which runs until Friday Dec. 6, will also deal with identity and diversity, the training and profession of psychologists, and psychology applied in health, education, culture, sports, organizations, communications, social institutions, and disasters.
Organized by the Cuban Association of Psychology, the meeting is sponsored by international institutions such as the Latin American Union of Psychology Organizations, and the local offices of the Pan-American Health Organization and UN Population Fund.
More than 10 events including lectures, symposia, workshops, congresses, and seminars take place as part of the convention.
Representatives from universities, institutions, and study groups from Europe and America are participating, and in fact gave some 50 pre-congress presentations at different Havana institutions yesterday.
