Chile''s President Michelle Bachelet met First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez, who presided over his country''s delegation to the official inauguration ceremony in that country, Granma newspaper reported.
During the meeting held between both leader yesterday morning, the Cuban first vice president sent greetings by Cuban President, Army Gen. Raul Castro Ruz, and expressed the island's willingness to renew and expand relations with Chile, not only in the political-diplomatic sphere, but also in the economic, trade and cooperation field.
On the other hand, the Chilean president recognized the role played by the Cuban presidency of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States, and transferred her willingness to deepen relations between both countries.
Chilean Foreign Minister Haroldo Muñoz, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Rogelio Sierra Diaz, and the island's ambassador to Chile Adolfo Curbelo Castellanos, also attended the meeting.
