The Assistant Secretary-General of Socialist Arab Ba'ath Party, Hilal al-Hilal, arrives in Cuba today to reaffirm the ties of friendship and solidarity between both countries.
The top Syrian leader comes accompanied by Abdel Nasser al-Chaifa, member of the Regional Command of Ba'ath Party and president of the Syria-Cuba Friendship Association, and former Information Minister Mohsen Bilal.
The Syrian delegation expects to hold meetings with Cuban leaders and visit Havana, Villa Clara and Cienfuegos provinces.
Shortly after leaving Havana, Al-Hilal told Prensa Latina that he takes a message of fraternity and solidarity to the Cuban people.
Born 49 years ago in Aleppo province, Al-Hilal was graduated as electric and electronic engineering.
Since July 2013, he is a member of main leadership of the National Progressive Front of Syria, comprising 10 political parties.
This visit to Cuba is the first Al-Hilal carries out abroad as a second political figure of Ba'ath party in this Arab country.
