Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrives in Cuba on Thursday for an official visit with the purpose of expressing Brazil’s solidarity with the Cuban people and government after the damages caused by hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
According to Granma news daily, during his stay in Cuba, Lula da Silva will hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart Raul Castro.
During his visit, an agreement for the production of hydrocarbons between CUBAPETROLEOS and PETROBRAS’s subsidiary Petrobras Middle East B.v. will be signed. In addition, the Havana venue of the Agency for the Promotion of Exports and Investments of Brazil (APEX) will be inaugurated.
