Pope Benedict XVI on Tuesday will have a tight schedule, including a meeting with President Raul Castro on his second day in Cuba.
The dialogue with the Cuban president will take place in the afternoon at Havana's Palace of the Revolution, where both heads of State are expected to convey a courtesy greeting at the stairs of the building.
His Holiness, who is visiting the country at the invitation of the Government and the Conference of Catholic Bishops of Cuba, will also meet with religious authorities at the Apostolic Nunciature.
In the morning, the Holy Father will visit the Sanctuary of the Virgin of La Caridad del Cobre, in eastern Santiago de Cuba, where he arrived in Monday afternoon from Mexico to begin a three-day apostolic visit.
At noon, Benedict XVI will arrive at the Jose Marti International Airport in Havana to begin the second part of his pastoral visit to Cuba, which will conclude on Wednesday.
Pope Benedict XVI's visit, paid under the slogan of Pilgrim of La Caridad, coincides with the Jubilee Year for the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the image of the Virgin of La Caridad del Cobre, considered for the catholics the patron saint of Cuba.
