The National Electoral Commission (CEN) stated that 7,877,906 people exercised their right to vote in the February 3 elections, electing the members of Parliament and members of the Provincial Assemblies of People's Power.
This figure represents 90.8 percent of the vote, the CEN's final official report said, which indicates that 8,668,457 people were registered in the updated voter rolls.
The information about the general elections released today in Granma newspaper stated that nearly 7,877,906 votes were for the members of the Provincial Assemblies of People's Power, 7,418,522 of which were valid, or 94.1 percent.
Meanwhile, about 7,819,702 ballots were to elect delegates to the Provincial Assemblies of People's Power, 7,349,059 of them valid, for 93.9 percent.
The general elections to elect the members of Parliament and members of the provincial assemblies of the People's Power were carried out without difficulty and about 29,957 polling stations were opened at 07:00 local time (12:00 GMT) on that date.
The Cuban Parliament will begin a new five-year term on February 24.
The delegates elected will constitute such assemblies on February 10.
