Chinese Company Makes Donation to Cuba
Chinese company Haier donated 150,000 dollars in equipment to
hurricane-struck Cuba, to help in the recovery works in the most
affected areas by hurricanes Gustav and Ike.

Chinese company Haier donated 150,000 dollars in equipment to hurricane-struck Cuba, to help in the recovery works in the most affected areas by hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
This donation was part of a solidarity-with-Cuba ceremony presided over Wang Anxi, deputy director of Haier and Carlos Miguel Pereira, Cuban Ambassador to China, in Qingdao city, in Shandong province.
Wang expressed the willingness Haier and the Chinese people of helping the Cuban people in this recovery stage, and he mentioned the most important cooperation projects with the Caribbean nation. He also highlighted his company collaboration in the energy-saving projects Cuba is undertaking.
The Cuban Ambassador thanked the Chinese government and people, and especially to Haier group, whose donation will help replace the lost equipment after the passing of the hurricanes.
At the closing of the ceremony, Haier’s workers attending the ceremony deposit their donation in yuans in a box that had been readied for that purpose, and started the solidarity day for all the group employees.
Also attending the ceremony were other staff members of the Cuban embassy in China, as well as representatives of the Informatics and Communications Ministry, reports the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website.
