Anniversary of the Cuban Revolution Celebrated in Suriname

Members from associations of parents of Surinamese students in the archipelago celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Revolution at the Cuban embassy in that South American nation.
Cuba's ambassador in Paramaribo, Andrés González, said that, over the last five decades, his country had faced all the obstacles imposed by the aggressive policy of the United States, in spite of which the archipelago has maintained its liberty, dignity and ethical principles.
The Coordinator of the Association of Parents of Surinamese Students in Cuba, Gloria Christopher, expressed her gratitude for the possibility offered to many of their children to be trained as professionals here.
During the ceremony, some of those students who graduated in Cuba expressed their respect and acknowledgement to the Cuban people and government, and sent a message of love and solidarity on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution
At present, more than 60 Surinamese youngsters are studying in Cuba, where 43 professionals from that nation have already graduated.
