Authorities from Cuba and Algeria will sign agreements to strengthen the bilateral links between these two countries at the beginning of the 7th Session of the Inter Governmental Commission for Economic and Scientific Technical Cooperation.
The ministers will analyze the topics debated Monday and Tuesday by two commissions of experts activated to strengthen the relations in health, sports, education, agriculture, information technologies, communication, trade, energy and mines, finance and culture.
According to a press release of the Cuban Foreign Ministry, the parties will sign several agreements and the final text of the meeting on Thursday.
At the head of the Algerian delegation is the minister of Health, Population and Hospital Reform, Djamel Ould Abbes, whereas for the hosts at the 7th Meeting the Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Rodrigo Malmierca, is co-presiding for the cuban side.
In accordance with the source, Ould Abbes will carry out conversations with Malmierca, the Cuban Minister of Public Health, Roberto Morales, and other high ranking officials.
Havana and Algiers established diplomatic relations in 1962.
The Algerian President, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, has visited the island on several occasions, including official stays in 2000, and in 2009 to take part in the Summit of the South, and six years later in the 14th Summit of the Movement of Non Aligned Countries.
