Cuba Promotes its Tourism at French Trade Show
Cuba is working hard to increase the development of its tourism industry, and expects to receive 2,900,000 visitors this year, Carmen Casals, head of the Caribbean country's delegation to the Top Resa tourism fair, said today.

Cuba is working hard to increase the development of its tourism industry, and expects to receive 2,900,000 visitors this year, Carmen Casals, head of the Caribbean country's delegation to the Top Resa tourism fair, said today.
The event, being held at the Parc des Expositions at Porte de Versailles in the French capital, brings together representatives of over 1,100 brands and 160 destinations worldwide, as well as airlines and major travel agency networks.
"Top Resa Fair is increasingly becoming an important meeting point for professionals in the sector," said Casals, director of Communications and Promotion at the Ministry of Tourism.
In remarks to Prensa Latina, the official said French tourists' visits to Cuba have increased and the Cubana de Aviacion airline will begin flights in November to and from Santa Clara, aimed at promoting the flow to the country's central zone, particularly to Cayo Santa Maria.
She said that a nature tourism event will be held in Granma province this year, and another on underwater photography at Cayo Largo.
The Tourism Fair, the biggest event in the industry, will be held in May in Varadero, this time focusing on Brazil.
An extensive representation of Cuban entities, including Havanatur, Cubana de Aviacion airline, Cubatur, Cubanacan and Gaviota, as well as major hotel chains are participating in the event, to run until September 21.
