Cuban youths sent a message to the historic leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro, to whom they also conferred a commemorative coin on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the Federation of University Students (FEU).

During the last day of the 8th FEU Congress, the students also granted that recognition to President Raul Castro, in the presence of First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Vice President Jose Ramon Machado Ventura.

A report by the National News Agency states that FEU President-elect Yosvany Montano said that Fidel Castro's speech at the Main Lecture Hall of the University of Havana, on November 17, 2005, has more force today.

At the time, the statesman referred to the role of the new generations in preserving socialism.

Montano reaffirmed the university students' commitment to becoming professionals capable of dealing with the world's problems, as Julio Antonio Mella and Jose Antonio Echeverria, historic references to Cuban youths, did on their time.
