Cuban Young Artists Sing for Peace and The Five
A concert of young musical groups and singers for peace and for the cause of the five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters held in US prisons since 1998 was held in this eastern city, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the socio-cultural project "Golpe a Golpe".

A concert of young musical groups and singers for peace and for the cause of the five anti-terrorist Cuban fighters held in US prisons since 1998 was held in this eastern city, on the occasion of the seventh anniversary of the socio-cultural project "Golpe a Golpe".
In her speech on behalf of the Saíz Brothers Association (AHS), grouping young artists and writers, Elia pelaez called peace-loving people worldwide to join the cause of Gerardo Hernandez, Ramon Labanino, Antonio Guerrero and Fernando Gonzalez.
These heroes are known as The Cuban Five, as along with Rene Gonzalez, they were arrested and given unfairly harsh prison sentences for monitoring Miami-based terrorist groups operating against Cuba.
Rene is already in Cuba after serving his prisons sentences and giving up his US citizenship.
By holding these real anti-terrorist fighters in prison, the US administrations "show their disregard for humankind, relying on their control over big media that manipulate and silence the truth and distort the real story of The Cuban Five," she said.
She noted that the concert is part of the program of the 7th Fair of Young Creators "Golpe a Golpe", running Dec 23 until today in this city, some 570 east of Havana.
The artistic initiative was also a bright opportunity to demand the end of the over 50-year long US blockade against Cuba, the longest in the history of humankind.
